FDA approved DexCom Inc.’s G4 Platinum Professional continuous glucose monitor, the firm announced June 3. The professional version of the monitor, which is already marketed for patient monitoring, will be purchased by medical practices directly to loan to their patients for a week. The system can collect real-time data from patients to inform therapy adjustments or to help educate and motive patients to change behaviors, the company says.
