Karen DeSalvo, who is currently the health commissioner for New Orleans, will start Jan. 13 as the new director of the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. Farzad Mostashari left the post earlier this year, and Jacob Reider has been filling in as acting director in the interim.
