Digital Health Briefs: Digital Health Funding Hits New High; FTC Mobile Apps Focus

Rock Health’s third quarter update on digital health startup funding revealed a new high. Start-ups raised $673 million, bringing the year-to-date total to $1.522 billion; the previous high for an entire year occurred in 2012, when $1.401 billion was raised. Big raisers included several companies pursuing wireless sensors and companies handling big-data analytics. California is still home to the most deals, with 48; second-place Massachusetts contributed 11. Thirty-four companies used crowd-sourced funding, for a total of $2.1 million.
