Applications for fiscal year 2015 new-technology add-on payments are due Nov. 25, CMS announced on its website Sept. 17. The add-on payment program is designed to support advanced medical technologies as they are first introduced into the market, before enough patient data has been collected for their costs to be factored into a standard inpatient payment category.
CMS announced in its final inpatient prospective payment system regulation, issued Aug. 2, that three products, including two devices, will receive new-technology add-on payments in fiscal year 2014.
