The HHS Office of Inspector General will conduct a review in Maryland, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee to investigate whether CMS awarded contracts to unlicensed durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics and supplies companies under Round 2 of the Medicare competitive bidding program, according to an Aug. 22 letter to Reps. Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson, R-Pa., and Bruce Braley, D-Iowa.

The lawmakers had requested in June that OIG investigate, based on indications that CMS awarded contracts to suppliers...
