Richard Kronick Appointed As Next AHRQ Director

Kronick moves to the head of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, replacing Carolyn Clancy, after serving as deputy assistant secretary for planning and evaluation at HHS since January 2010.

For the first time in more than a decade, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality will have a new leader. HHS announced Aug. 19 that Richard Kronick will take over as AHRQ director from Carolyn Clancy, who has headed the agency since February 2003, and will step down by the end of the month.
