Gore’s medical products division has been driving the development of an international standard guide for absorbable synthetic implants for the past several years with the help of industry and FDA. He is now the technical contact for a new standard on these materials for ASTM, the international organization that leads the development of many international voluntary consensus standards.
“There’s a lot of new energy in absorbable cardiovascular devices,” Hayes said in an interview with “The Gray Sheet.”
