ArthroCare Corp. paid $45 million plus possible milestone payments to acquire ENTrigue Surgical Inc., the firm announced July 2. San Antonio, Texas-based ENTrigue makes implants, disposables and instruments for endoscopic sinus surgery including balloon dilation. It will now operate within ArthroCare’s ENT product division, which markets the Coblation and Rapid Rhino product lines for ear, nose and throat procedures worldwide. ENTrigue’s Ventera sinus dilation system is available in a limited number of countries in Europe and in Canada. And in September, ENTrigue initiated a limited U.S. launch of its Ventera-R Sinus Dilation System for revision surgery of the frontal (over the eyes), maxillary (under the cheek), and sphenoid (mid-head) sinuses.
