Cook Medical has stopped shipments and initiated a global recall of its Zilver PTX drug-eluting stent due to reports of the device’s delivery system separating at the tip of the inner catheter.

Cook Medical Inc. has stopped shipments of its Zilver PTX drug-eluting stents and is recalling more than 40,000 units worldwide due to reports that the device delivery system separated at the tip of the inner catheter during procedures.
