Stryker Corp. on Oct. 1 promoted Kevin A. Lobo to president and CEO. Lobo moved up from his post as group president of Stryker Orthopaedics to replace interim CEO Curt A. Hartman. Hartman added the interim CEO post to his chief financial officer duties in February when Stephen P. MacMillan suddenly resigned as CEO and chairman. (See Also see "People In Brief" - Medtech Insight, 13 February, 2012..) Hartman has resigned his CFO post at Stryker, but agreed to stay on as an advisor to the CEO to assure a smooth transition. Dean H. Bergy, Stryker’s VP-corporate secretary, will serve as interim CFO. Bergy previously served as CFO of Stryker from 2003 to 2009. William U. Parfet is the company’s non-executive chairman. Prior to joining Stryker in April 2011, Lobo was president of Johnson & Johnson’s Ethicon Endo-Surgery.
