Surgical and critical care device maker Teleflex Inc. gains catheters for dialysis access and peripheral angioplasty through its purchase of Hotspur Technologies for $15 million, plus potential milestone payments, the firm announced July 18. The acquisition of privately held Hotspur and its portfolio of 510(k)-cleared catheters “broadens and strengthens” Teleflex’ existing offerings addressing the $1 billion worldwide market opportunity for dialysis access and peripheral angioplasty devices, Teleflex said. The deal also “is consistent with the company’s strategy to invest in late-stage, innovative technology.”
