Congress Enters Final Stages On FDA Reform Bill

Legislative leaders say they remain on track to send FDA user fee reauthorization and reform legislation for the president’s signature by the end of June following House passage of bill.

Lawmakers are preparing to reconcile differences between House and Senate FDA user fee and reform bills following the House’s overwhelming approval of legislation May 30.

The House passed the FDA Reform Act on a 387-5 vote after both Democratic and Republican lawmakers delivered speeches praising the bipartisan negotiations that produced the package.
