Device firm plans to embed AT&T wireless technology in its Latitude Patient Management system, subject to FDA approval. The communications technology would allow the Boston Scientific implantable cardiac devices such as pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators and cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillators and pacemakers to transmit data to clinicians across North America, the company said Feb. 22. The wireless connectivity would give physicians greater flexibility in conducting remote patient monitoring and follow-up on the status of their implantable devices, both firms said.
