Cellnovo is backing what it says is the world’s first clinical trial in which patients and clinicians will simultaneously observe and evaluate real-time clinical data remotely anywhere in the world, the mobile diabetes management technology firm said Feb. 8. The usability trial will be conducted in 10 diabetes centers across the U.K. and will involve 100 patients with Type 1 diabetes. The company also announced the U.K. commercial launch of the diabetes management system, which includes an insulin pump that connects wirelessly to a touchscreen handset that can send data to a web-based clinical management system.
